King of Kings Lower Back Brace Reviewed!

In this review, I will take an in-depth look at the King of Kings lower back brace. If you suffer from back pain and are in the market for a highly rated lower back brace, please keep reading. This excellent lumbar support can be very effective when used correctly.

Back pain comes in many different forms for different people and unfortunately, there is no one size fits all solution to back pain.  My experience has been that a back brace can help in recovery and get you moving in the right direction.

First, a little background on me

I have been dealing with lower back problems for about 20 years so I can attest to the fact that back pain can range from mild to debilitating.  If you suffer from low back pain, you probably know what I am talking about.  I have dealt with shooting pain down my right side to the point I could not bend over to dress in the morning.

That makes for an exciting start to the day I can tell you.  I even had to have my kids, who were very young at the time, put my socks and shoes on for me.

I have also, most recently, had spinal stenosis and could not stand up straight, hunched over at about a 30-degree angle at the waist.  So, I am pretty well versed in what it feels like to deal with back pain.

Can a back brace help with lower back pain?

When I was recovering from lumbar stenosis in 2016, my chiropractor advised me that a back brace would be a good next step for me, to help me get along in my recovery.

Lumbar supports can help to provide support for the low back so that your back can have a chance to heal.  You are allowing the brace to take the load off of your discs, muscles, spine, etc. and let your body to do its work.

A back brace gives you the support you need so you can keep moving which is often a critical component of recovering from a back injury.

So, enough about me, let’s talk about this fantastic back brace!

King of Kings lower back brace

So, that brings me to this highly rated back brace from King of Kings.  There are a lot of great features of this lumbar support, but the fact that it is very customizable is at the top of the list.King of Kings lower back brace

Variety of sizes available

It is important to find a back support that fits you correctly.  This lumbar support is available in four sizes:

  • Small 27-32 inch waist
  • Medium 33-40 inch waist
  • Large 41-49 inch waist
  • XL 50-56 inch waist

The wide array of size options means that you can find just the right fit for your body, making this brace a very user-friendly choice.

How to measure for a back brace

You want to make sure that you measure at your belly button level.  You do not want to measure around your waist, like your belt size.  Also, do not assume you know what size you are by just going with whatever size pants you wear.

Take an accurate measurement around the height of your belly button.  You want to make sure you get the right size, so you have the best results.  If you are at the upper limit of the size range, you might want to opt for the next size up.

Who is the King of Kings back brace for?

Whether you are doing laundry, unloading dishes, or playing a round of golf, you should give this back support a good hard look.  Or if you are recovering from an injury and need that extra support to help you exercise to build strength, this lumbar support is definitely worth a try.

This brace is flexible yet offers a lot of support where you need it. So, if you are active, this brace is going to allow you to perform movements and still be there where you need it most.  The brace is made of breathable mesh material, and that is great if you are active, as this will help to alleviate sweating and prevent the brace from smelling.  The last thing you want is a smelly back brace (see washing instructions below).

How this brace works

The one thing I love about this back brace is the customization and versatility it offers.  First off, you choose the size that will fit you the best, so this is a fantastic starting point.  From there, you start off by folding the two large, overlapping velcro straps, one on top of the other.  This provides the initial layer of support.

After you have the brace securely in place, then you can fine-tune the tightness using the built-in pulley system which uses heavy-duty elastic straps.  This system is different from other back braces on the market and is a feature that I highly recommend.

The pulley allows you to get the brace as tight as you want it. Of course, you don’t want the support overly snug, but I think you get the point.  This double layer of security is still very flexible to move with you yet provide the strengthen you need to get your activities done. You want the brace to be snug but not too tight, you need to be able to breathe.

Recommendations

A couple of things I would recommend with this back support are to wear it over a t-shirt or undershirt if you don’t want it to show.  It is a little scratchy to wear on bare skin, so I definitely recommend wearing it over a shirt if that is possible for you.  You will still have the support you need but without the rubbing.

It is possible to wash this brace, and I would recommend doing so, especially if you are very active and tend to sweat when you wear it.  Hand washing is definitely recommended instead of putting it in the washing machine.  You can just hang it out to dry.  Keep your back support smelling great and wash it!

Just because you are wearing a back brace, this does not give you a license to lift whatever you want whenever you want.  You need to learn your limits. The brace is designed to help you, not turn you into a superhero.

Talk to your doctor

If you are unsure if a back brace is right for you, I would definitely talk with your doctor.  If you don’t use a brace correctly, you can cause more pain and that is not what you want, so check with your doctor first.

You also don’t want to become completely reliant on wearing a back brace, this can lead to losing strength.  Ultimately strengthening your core muscles is important for the long term.

Conclusion: King of Kings Lower Back Brace

Well, if you haven’t noticed from this review, I think this back support is a great option for whatever situation you are in.  If you are recovering from an injury and need some extra support to enable you to exercise so, you can help build up your back, or for everyday activities that cause you low back pain, you need to give this brace a shot.

With a variety of sizes available and the ability to customize the back support to fit your body, there is a lot to like about this product.

  1. Oh I really need one of these.  My lower back is always hurting.  My ex has a lot of back issues as well and he has experianced those shooting pains down his side like you mentioned.  I think that he should really get one as his back seems more bent out of shape that mine.  We both need some excellent back support.

    • Thanks for your comment Shy.  Sorry to hear your back is hurting, I know how that goes.  Please let me know if you have any questions, I am happy to help.

  2. This looks like a pretty heavy-duty back brace. Fortunately, I’ve never needed to use one, but my dad wears one pretty frequently.   Can back braces be used to help PREVENT back injuries for people who don’t have any back issues? Or are they designed specifically for people that already have back issues?

    • Hi, thanks for stopping by.  Great question and unfortunately, it’s a tough one to answer.  There are varying opinions on the subject as to whether a brace can prevent injury. Many companies, including grocery stores, airlines, warehouse workers wear braces as a preventive measure. But a person should not rely on a back brace, but rather focus on proper mechanics. Weightlifters also indicate they can increase gains by wearing a belt.  So, the jury is still out.  I wore a brace when I was recovering from a back injury and I believe it helped me a lot.  I know a lot of people wear them throughout the day because it makes them feel better.  Sorry I can’t give you a definitive answer, but I believe it’s up to the individual. I have always said though that a back support does not give you a license to lift more than you are capable of.

  3. Hi Steve, my dad has been struggling with lower back pain for a couple of years. This really put a damper on one day of a family vacation we took a few years ago… he had a disk slip but we we’re so lucky.  He went on bed rest and was able to manage. He still gets shooting pain on and off, so I think this back brace may be a winner! Thanks for the review!

    • Thank you for stopping by today.  Sounds like you made it through a tough spot with your dad, so that is a good thing.  Let me know if you have any questions, I am happy to help.

  4. Saw the video, love the ease with which you can adjust the tightness.  That always gets to me with other products where I struggle to adjust – kinda defeats the purpose when I’m suffering from lower back problems.

By the way, is this only suitable for recovery from a lower back injury?  Mine is more a case of bad posture from having a desk job.  So I end up with ongoing severe repetitive strains that affects my lower back.  Is it overkill you think to use this on some working days to correct my posture and lighten the strain on my back?  I will, of course, check with my doctor.  But loved this product’s apparent non-bulky, ease-of-use.

    • Hello, thanks for stopping by.  I think you are right on track, by wearing a brace to lighten your load.  It is not just for recovery, but that is what I used my back brace for initially.  Ideally if you can strengthen your core and vary your posture, hopefully you won’t need to use a brace so often.  Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it.

  5. Good to know about your product, Steve.  It sounds like an excellent brace.  There have been a couple of times in my life when I certainly could have used it.  I checked the price and it sounds reasonable for what you are getting.  It’s nice that there are different sizes and a way to fine-tune it to fit your specific body.  I think that is an excellent feature!

Your product is, I believe, the kind of thing that many people would be interested in finding.

    • Hi Fran, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.  A lower back brace sure helped me out when I was recovering from my back injury and I hope other people can benefit from that as well.

I agree with you, that having different sizes available is a key feature which will allow the user to get more of a custom fit.  This brace does have the ability to fine tune and that is such a great thing.

Please let me know if you have any questions, I am happy to help.

  6. This looks like a quality product and a sturdy enough device to help with posture and hopefully reducing back pain in the process.  I struggle with my posture and something like this would probably be great for me.

If the device is scratchy, I would wear a tank top underneath then put a shirt on over it. That may help with the scratching problem but I’m not sure.

I love the fact that the brace comes in a variety of sizes.  It seems like a really solid brace, so the different sizes will appeal to a lot of people.

    • Hello Ty, thanks for your comment.  I agree with you on the scratchy feel, it would be best to wear an undershirt and put the brace on over that.  This will help to minimize the slight bit of discomfort.  Having many size options is great, there are a lot of lower back braces out there that are one size fits all, but a lot of times those really mean one size fits none LOL.

Thanks again, and please let me know if you have any questions, I am happy to help.

  7. I’m so happy I found your website, Steve.

My partner suffers from agonising back pain all the time and has to go to work suffering this way.

I love the fact that the back brace comes in different sizes and thanks for the tip on how to measure your waist.

I’m sure the King of Kings back brace would help immensely but I do have a couple of questions I’d like to ask you.

#1: How long does the King of Kings Back brace last for in normal working conditions (Office Worker), with some bending down required during the day.

#2: Will the King of Kings back brace loose its shape after multiple washes?

Thanks muchly and looking forward to your reply, Jeff.

    • Hi Jeff, thanks for stopping by today.  To answer your questions, first of all, this brace should last a good long time, some users have said they wear it all day long at the office. The great thing about this brace is that it is designed to be flexible enough to move with you, yet offer a lot of support.

As for washing, I definitely recommend hand washing, and air drying the brace, then you won’t have to worry about it losing it’s shape.

Thanks again for your comment, I appreciate it.  Please let me know if you have any more questions, I am happy to help.

  8. I’m checking out your full guide to back braces as well.  I keep trying to get my man to try one.  He has spine scoliosis and isn’t doing anything for it with his sunken posture, locked out knees and all!  Then, there is me with a strong core that hasn’t been quite right since fracturing my tailbone.  I’m finally coming back to life again but, I have been debating if I would benefit from a lower back brace as well.

I put long hours in at the office desk and I get upset when I catch myself slouching to take the pressure off my tailbone.  Some guys I know just won’t wear a brace like this anywhere but a gym, like the guy in the video.  It’s just the tough as nails bravado.  I might get my man to wear a neoprene based one.  This harvest season took a toll on him.

If I get it for him as a present he may have a harder time refusing the good therapy!

    • Thanks for stopping by today!  Wow, it sure sounds like you both could benefit from this lower back brace.  I agree with you, if you purchase one as a present, it will definitely be harder to refuse.  Sorry to hear about your ailments, that is a tough way to get through life.  Again, I appreciate you stopping by.

  9. Thanks for this review Steve. I could use a back-brace right now. My lumbar area has been aching the last couple of days. I think this could be the right answer for me to address that pain and stiffness and stay active at the same time. So, I went ahead and ordered one. I’m going to up my daily curcumin a little bit as well.

    Cheers, Brad

    • Hi Brad, thanks for your comment.  I am glad you found this post so valuable and placed an order.  Please let me know if you have any questions, I am happy to help.
