What does Noom cost? This is a common question these days. In this post, I will walk you through the various price points, and help you decide if Noom is right for you. If you are interested in an innovative weight management program, I encourage you to keep reading.

Before we get into the cost of Noom, I will give you some background on the program itself.

What is the Noom diet?

Noom is more than a diet program; it’s really a lifestyle change. Noom is a mobile health coaching platform that is available at your fingertips. Developed by health professionals, Noom aims to change your behavior when it comes to choosing the food you eat, thus helping you lose weight and keep it off.

Noom is more than just a tool for tracking your food and exercise.  You will have access to a team of health coaches who are there to help you along the way.  Your coaching team consists of a goal specialist and a group coach. These folks are trained in areas like nutrition, exercise, psychology, and other health fields and are there to support you in reaching your goals.

What does Noom cost?

Noom offers a variety of price plans to suit different needs.  For instance, you can sign up for a monthly plan for $59, or an annual plan for $199.  These price plans are billed on an auto-recurring basis. Here is a breakdown of all the price points.  As you can see, the longer you want to sign up for, the less expensive it works out on a per month basis.

Noom’s pricing structure:

  • Monthly auto-recurring plan $59 USD
  • 2-month auto-recurring plan $99 USD
  • 4-month auto-recurring plan $129 USD
  • 6-month auto-recurring plan $149 USD
  • 8-month auto-recurring plan $159 USD
  • Annual auto-recurring plan $199 USD

What do you get from Noom?

As I touched on before, Noom is a different kind of weight loss program.  You have access to coaches who are there to help you with food choices, motivation, whatever else you need to achieve your weight loss goals.  Coaches are available regular business hours (M-F), and you interact with them through in-app messaging.

Within the app, there are lessons each day that teach you about things like food triggers, eating in social situations, and how to handle cravings.  Noom gives you small daily doses of information, so it’s not overwhelming. At the end of each lesson, there is a short quiz to make sure you understand the article.  You can save these lessons and refer back to them later as well.

Noom provides you with the following:

  • A Goal Specialist who will set up a communication plan with you
  • A Group coach who will be in contact with you daily through the support group, to guide you through the curriculum
  • Daily lessons focused on behavior change
  • Recipes designed for the Noom program
  • Food and exercise logging tools

How to start Noom

Getting started with Noom is easy, simply download the app, and then you will walk through a questionnaire about your current weight, goal weight, age, habits, etc.  Then you set up an account, and you are on your way.

Noom will match you up with a goal specialist and a group coach.  You have access to a full coaching team who will help you navigate the program.  You will start tracking your food intake right away as this is a critical component to the program.

Food tracking will allow you to see patterns, which will help steer you toward making healthy food choices down the road.  You have to see exactly what you are eating in order to make changes.

Noom does offer a 14-day trial which allows you to take the program for a test drive.  With the trial, you have full access to the program, including a coaching team, and the daily lessons. You can cancel before the 14-day trial expires and owe nothing.

Noom food categories

Noom breaks food down into different food categories, and I think this is an essential aspect of the program. Food falls into one of three categories, green, yellow, and red. The categories are based on calorie-density, or how many calories are in a given weight of the food.

Noom Foods in the green category have low-calorie density and should make up the majority of your diet. Items like bananas, whole grain bread, and sweet potatoes fall in this category.

Noom Foods in the yellow category have more calories and/or fewer nutrients and should be consumed in moderation. Grilled chicken, eggs, Greek yogurt fall in this category (see more here).

Red foods are highest in calorie-density and should be eaten less frequently and in smaller portions.  Ham, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter, are examples in the red category.

It is important to note that there are no foods that are off-limits with the Noom diet.  You can still eat the food you love, but you may need to tone it back a bit.

Are you achieving your weight loss goals?

Although losing weight is a pretty simple concept, burn more calories than you take in, it can be tough to do.  Some people struggle with eating the right foods, and other people need motivation.  Some folks just don’t know where to start when it comes to losing weight.

Having a program like Noom is great to help you get started losing weight, and keeping it off long term.  Noom is easy to use and focuses on changing your behavior which is a critical component of maintaining weight loss.

There are so many “crash” diets out there, and people usually end up putting the weight right back on because they have to cut out the food they like to eat.  With Noom, you don’t have to give up the food you love to eat, and you can achieve your goals.

Noom walks you step by step through the program and helps you understand your triggers and cravings.

Conclusion: What does Noom cost?

Noom is a very comprehensive weight management program.  There are a variety of pricing options available, depending on your needs.  What sets Noom apart is the focus on changing behavior, and the coaching support you receive, which are essential ingredients to long-term weight loss success.

  1. I never signed up for Noom, I don’t have the app, I never talked to anybody at Noom, yet my credit card has been charged twice $18.37 for the trial, plus twice $179.00 for the program.
I am beyond outraged. I am being defrauded.
